Day 9 - Tuesday December 14th 2010
Today we decided to go into town again and visit a fantastically peaceful cathedral we had seen and a few other streets that looked interesting. We found an art show that had some pretty interesting local artists showing off their wares and we exchanged quizzical looks at the clearly feminist depictions of a woman flushing her soiled tampon down the toilet… We also noticed that in the many bazaars we had frequented in Spain, nearly all the store owners were from various latin american countries, why? I asked and as near as I can tell the cordial store owner replied that many latin americans immigrated here for jobs and to take advantage of the tourism economy and then many others moved there cuz they had relatives in Spain and they.. had nothing better to do. Anyway we felt like partaking of the local cuisine so we skipped on over to the kabob hut and ate some tasty lamb filled tortas and patatas. Afterward we toured the market and bought some nicknacks and doodads for Elijah's woman. Soon we started having one of those deep existential conversations that old friends sometimes have. We walked to the park and sat there talking about life and love and eternal bliss and the intricacies of marriage. We talked for 47 hours straight and then were disrupted from our revelrous banter by a 30 year old man who was miserably failing at par core… We did the only thing we could do. We videotaped him and made fun of him on camera. That was about the end of that night. We walked home and slept the sleep of drowning babies.
